Beyond QR code#

Expanding the traveller offering (Inbound&Outbound)#

The eSIM eliminates the logistical hassle of getting a physical SIM card. Customers are not necessary to have to look for a shop or wait for the SIM to be delivered by mail. Also, not necessary to looking for an ejector tool to change SIMs or afraid the lose the own SIM after swap.

eSIM is also ideal for frequent travellers. Customer can stay connected, anywhere, anytime, no matter how often or how suddenly you change locations. eSIM makes traveling easier, especially for those regularly going back and forth between the two countries. Business travellers, or expats who often visit their home country for instance, can keep two lines and easily switch from their home-based operator to their Roaming/local connectivity providers.

With an eSIM compatible smartphone, customer can get immediate connectivity wherever they are. All customers must do is receive your eSIM profile and you will get connected to the Internet within minutes.

The subscription can go through online channel and offline channels.

For online channels, operator can offer the traveller package for inbound & outbound roamers onto web store (ES2+ integration) or Mobile apps (1GLOBAL RSP SDK), once customer purchased the package, it’s either send the QRcode to customer for download profile or direct download & install profile into smartphone (SDK).

INSTANTANEOUS ONBOARDING – Discovery Service#

GSMA Root SM-DS and Apple Lookup Service#

1GLOBAL provide integration to both GSMA Root SM-DS and Apple Lookup Server (ALS)

SM-DS/ALS usage can be requested via User Interface or ES2+ APIs.

Activation process:

  • The operator obtains the EID of Smartphone either through their BSS (when the device is sold by them) or during the customer registration process if the user brings their own device.
  • Through 1GLOBAL’s ES2+ API (ConfirmOrder or User interface, the operator assigns an eSIM profile to a specific EID.
  • The Smartphone queries ALS/SM-DS and if there is an eSIM assigned to device, it downloads and installs the profile automatically without any QR code scanning.

Unified QR Code#

Unified QR code – Allows corporations to enable profile download for their employees (a pool of eSIMs behind one QR code). Same QR code may be distributed among a number of users.

The Unified Group QR allows the download of a set of predefined profiles as part of the private Group and can be used by one Enterprise.

Furthermore the use of such a QR could be in public spaces such as airports, Metro, Stadiums etc., for visitors to scan the QR code and download a subscription for thier use.
